ten years and the gifts still suck

I went to the annual Berri and Jesse Cross white elephant Christmas party this weekend in Greensboro. I was lucky enough to steal the coveted lighted gnome statue. other hot items included the wooden watermelon man, the monkey statue, the Dallas Cowboys watch, and the yard-o-beef.

I was also allowed to make a campaign pitch to these folks who don't live in Florida, which was countered by offers to make donations for sexual favors.

the usual folks were in attendance, except for Neil who moved back to England. I will have to mail him his Brazil nuts this year. the ladyfinger cake also was at the party and in hot demand as always.

hat, coat, and scarf in Chicago

are you kidding me? I saw some snow flurries and the wind chill makes it 5 degrees. I have been twice to Wrigleyville, been to Boys Town, and Michigan Avenue in my less than 48 hour journey to Chicago.

I got to see John Gresley the first night, we ate at Goose Island Pub and went to Friar Tuck's for karaoke (no, I did not karaoke but he is a regular). Then the second night I stayed with Scott Feldman and we went to a great Argentinian restaurant and I ate half of a cow. We also went to comedy night at a club called Side Track and I got to meet his cousin.

I got to ride the El train a few times too, and I took many cabs as I am not going to walk for the sake of walking in 20 degree weather. That is just too ridiculous.

Next weekend is the White Elephant Christmas party in Greensboro...that deserves some fun discussion.
