hiker update!
the hosting of the hikers apparently was successful but I still have no direct report other than : Bama's trail journal
Note that I worked one summer at Mt. Greylock at the Visitor's Center as a nature interpreter. now, that's good stuff. And my Girl Scout leader's husband was the caretaker of the entire Massachustts part of the Appalachian Trail.

Staying at Casa Matrodicasa will be a highlight of our AT journey! Loved meeting your Uncle Eddy and Aunt Ellen and friends Judy and Brian. And of course your parents are da bomb. Your poor dad probably put 500 miles on his car driving us everywhere. But he didn't offer us a free car like he did the last thru-hiker.... :) It was VERY hard to leave your parents as they made us feel SO at home. Question: Their house is impeccable. Where did your housekeeping skills come from???
