I never realized that my house is a fun playland for young children
this is kind of funny. My high school friend Donna and her husband Michael stayed with us when they drove to Florida on the way to spring training baseball. They had their two boys with them, they are somewhere around the ages of three and five. They were VERY excited about the prospect of Oliver and Lucy and spent much time enjoying their company.
Oliver was the one who really liked the guests. We had one kid playing Boggle, the other looking at a photo album, and Oliver climbed right up and got in the middle of the entire scene. Lucy just wanted them not to take away the rawhide bone that they brought as a present.
I also forgot things like the fact that my entire house is tile, so anything dropped on it will break. Also, plastic cups half-filled are much better than big tall glasses filled to the brim. Chocolate added to milk is yummy. Cereal in the small boxes is much more fun than a big box. My entire collection/shrine of Georgia Bulldog stuff is quite interesting to small children, especially when their parents went to Siena and Villanova and do not have quite the same passion for football or mascots.
