critters from the ocean in Savannah
Danny and I went to Savannah on our annual holiday-time excursion and we ate lots of good stuff. Unfortunately we were denied entry to Paula Deen's restaurant this year due to massive crowds but we managed to eat quite well anyway. We had a low country shrimp boil for lunch, outstanding oysters for a snack, and then a very good meal at the Bistro Savannah which included clams for me and escargot for Danny.

Nonnie nonnie boo boo--I went to Paula Deen's for the first time Thanksgiving Weekend. I've been going there a couple of times a year for about four years but just tried Paula's. It was so GOOD! The trick is you have to get the restaurant as soon as they start taking reservations that morning, around 9. They'll put your name on the list, and then you come back when the restaurant opens for lunch at 11. You can spend the time in between shopping in the area. The hoecakes were good, the cheese biscuits were even better. I got to meet her son, Bobby--a total hottie and a true Southern gentleman charmer. Jeanna, you must marry him. And I must be invited to the wedding to enjoy the maw-in-laws cooking.
