commentary about Disney television
so for my tv-ignorant friends, this will bore you even more than the rest of my blog.
Of course staying at a Disney resort adds Disney-ness to the experience, including the Mickey soap in the shower, the Mickey butter pats at the luncheon, the sorcerer-hat chocolate on the dessert at the luncheon just to name a few.
But you know TV is my closest friend so I am watching it at Disney and I am amused at the channel lineup. The beginning channels are standard networks; then there is a Radio Disney channel with a children's program with words captioning it (about Toy Story characters, of course, right now); a cartoon Disney channel; regular Disney channel (the network); a TV guide channel just for Disney tv; a WDW tour channel; a listing channel of all Disney activities; another Disney channel of informercials; another Disney channel showing "Disney vacation secrets revealed"; a regular Disney vacation channel; a channel showing Disney "company clips"; then more regular cable channels; then the networks, ESPN, PBS with closed captioning channels separate from regular channels; the Disney tour channel with CC; the Disney tour channel in Spanish; The Disney Vacation Club in Spanish; then two channels in Spanish; a German channel DW-TE; ESPN in Spanish (the Spanish language version); TV Japan; A China channel.
One of the Spanish channels, Telemundo, was talking about Matt Damon getting married yesterday. No escape.

I know I'm a total Disney freak, but I like the Disney Channels. Especially the "Today at Disney World" one that, in addition to the park events, has a weather forecast with little Mickey Mouse shaped clouds and suns. So CUTE! Of course, my hubby says if I make him watch the "Top 7 Must Sees at Disney" channel one more time he'll scream. He prefers the Japan channel, which is so fun I'd subsribe if Cox offered it.
